Business Feedback Responses

Do you think my logo fits my business idea and why?

I really like the logo, it’s super simple and easy to read. Having the PR word in the business name also helps the audience to instantly know more about what the brand is. Having the greenery suggests that your heading down the eco-friendlier route as well which reflects from your value statement which is nice.

Are my mission/vision/value statements effective and why?

More recently than ever more businesses are striving to become more eco-friendly so you definitely have an effective set of statements that would tick boxes for your customers.

Do you think my business idea is financially viable?

Yes! The arts are really up and coming in East Anglia so this is a business that can grow in the coming years. Events like the First Light Festival in Lowestoft are growing each year and there are certainly people wanting more community events like this especially after Covid. Families are wanting local activities and the arts is a great way to involve this and events can only happen if they have successful PR!

What kind of budget do you think it would need to start-up this business idea?

I can’t give a specific number as my job roles don’t include the financial side as such however these are things you would want to focus on and shop around for different recommendations to find the right people that work for you -

-          Work Space (will you work from home or hire an office to use)

-          Branding Materials (uniform, flyers, banners, business cards, paid social media advertising)

-          Professional Fees (advisors, accountants and solicitor fees, registering your business etc)

-          Recruitment Fees (will you need assistant or someone to help for larger event pr etc)

Are there any clear improvements you think I could make to my business?

Perhaps just include the scale of events you want to focus on. For example, would it be small community groups or large events held at the Norfolk Showground or a mix of both.

Is there anything you would suggest changing about my business?

No! I think you have a fantastic business idea which could be really successful and positively impact a lot of people in the area.

What do you think would be the biggest issue this business would face?

Initially getting your foot in the door. For example, we run football camps in the half term and have had over 20 sessions now. We are still finding new customers and learning what they do and don’t like so we can tailor our sessions more towards them during half terms and we are still learning what works well and what doesn’t. We are also finding the more successful the events are the more other competitors are starting to copy our model now so always try to be one step ahead of everyone else.

Do you think my logo fits my business idea and why?

The logo is warm and friendly and has a highlight its links to creativity though use of a more intricate design which portrays a cultural and artistic feel. Purple is an imaginative and creative colour, its a thoughtful colour and well match to a cultural PR business.

Are my mission/vision/value statements effective and why?

The mission statement is clear, positioned to be supportive of the cultural and arts sector, sets a long term aim and is sensitive toward global issues, it sets out a clear mission for the business. The Vison statement slightly conflicts with the mission statement, by implying that its role is to create a thriving arts sector, perhaps it should be supporting a thriving arts sector. With the Value statement, think bigger some more about supporting communities rather than a community

Do you think my business idea is financially viable?

Low start-up costs, and low running costs linked to a growing cultural economy and significant public sector support available for cultural start-up businesses, would indicate financial viability, in 1st year.

What kind of budget do you think it would need to start-up this business idea?

Capital Start Up 1st Year

Good ICT (Phone, PC, IPAD, Internet, all social) - £1000

Website - £200

Transport (ideally Car) on HP £2000 per annum.

Office Space (£2000)

Expenses - £500

Are there any clear improvements you think I could make to my business?

Do not restrict you support to Norfolk and Suffolk, Norfolk and Suffolk should be the springboard to bigger opportunities.

Is there anything you would suggest changing about my business?

Yes add in networking, professional networking will account for a significant amount of cultural spend.

What do you think would be the biggest issue this business would face?

The 1st Contract, to prove the businesses is capable you must show experience to build reputation, you may have to start with some voluntary support to build experience and reputation.

Do you think my logo fits my business idea and why?

Yes the logo gives the impression of ethical/eco business and its states exactly what the aim of the business is.

Are my mission/vision/value statements effective and why?

Yes they describe exactly what you plan to do and how you plan to do it, you include who its targeted at and what you will help them to achieve.

Do you think my business idea is financially viable?

It will depend on the businesses that you have as clients, many of the arts projects have access to large amounts of funding, therefore they will be able to employ your services, for smaller businesses it may be beneficial for you to research what funding they can apply for to assist them to be able to afford your services, as this will enable their idea to grow and be successful.

What kind of budget do you think it would need to start-up this business idea?

It will only need a small amount for a start up if you are planning to work from home and do not require premises, therefore the only real cost would be equipment such as laptop/Pc and various graphics packages to enable you to produce the artwork required for your clients.

Are there any clear improvements you think I could make to my business?

Becoming an expert in funding options available to each of the businesses you may encounter would give you a slight advantage on your competitors as you would be able to help and advise on various aspects that others may not be able to.

Is there anything you would suggest changing about my business?

No, I think the concept is a good one and is quite unique, and a much needed resource to ensure the arts sector continues to grow, especially after the struggles it has faced during the last 2 years due to the pandemic, so anything that can help promote and grow that sector is going to be welcomed.

What do you think would be the biggest issue this business would face?

The biggest issue you may face is that some people do not feel that the arts sector is particularly important and they are always trying to cut funding for the arts, but as your business aim is to create a thriving arts sector, you may be able to convince them its worth investing into!

Do you think my logo fits my business idea and why?

Yes, I think the logo fits very well with your business idea as it’s nature related, it’s got vines and leaves surrounding the text which is very fitting since your PR business is environmentally friendly and I really like colour choice of purple and green, I also like that there is not too much purple in it but that’s what makes it stand out even more and look more eye catching.

Are my mission/vision/value statements effective and why?

Yes, they are, they show that your business has a clear passion for what its purpose is, and you are determined to help other businesses expand their reach. You also make it very clear and are very professional with clarifying that you’re a friendly business to others and to the environment and look out for both factors.

Do you think my business idea is financially viable?

I think with your business wanting to organise events for other businesses, it may be a financial struggle depending on the scale you wish to have these events be when your business is starting off. But if you can collaborate and partner with the right businesses to help your business grow, then I believe it will be financially

viable.

What kind of budget do you think it would need to start-up this business idea?

It’ll really depend on what business you’re wanting to host events with and how big you plan for them to be. Considering you’re an eco-friendly business you could perhaps have events outside meaning there wouldn’t be as much funding for things like renting out any buildings, asking for permission etc. And have it in an outdoor space where setting things up won’t be as much of a hassle

Are there any clear improvements you think I could make to my business?

At the moment, I can’t see where there could be improvements made to your business. It seems you have a very clear idea about what you are doing and how you’re going to do it

Is there anything you would suggest changing about my business?

This doesn’t have to be considered right now as your business is just starting off, but you could perhaps expand your reach outside of Norfolk and Suffolk and offer your services to businesses all over the UK.

What do you think would be the biggest issue this business would face?

The biggest issue I think would be marketing yourself/your business, you want to make sure your branding is very effective and will attract customers to want the services you provide. As well as other businesses you’d want to collaborate with and have partnerships with them to help each other grow your businesses.

Do you think my logo fits my business idea and why?
The logo is very fitting as not only does the flowery theme highlight the obvious environmental values of the company but also represent the cultivation of the community and business.

Are my mission/vision/value statements effective and why?

I think all 3 statements are effective in conveying the intentions, values and eventual goals of the business. A specific example would be the mission statement, which makes each goal clear and makes sure to identify each aim as a separate entity to be achieved.

Do you think my business idea is financially viable?
I think the idea is extremely viable, especially as many arts and heritage events in the area hardly get the exposure they need to make an impact, and a PR company with this exact goal in mind would generate enough income to sustain itself.

What kind of budget do you think it would need to start-up this business idea?

at least a few thousand pounds would be good to properly set aside budgets for advertising, travelling and events maintenance while keeping enough back to stabilise the company finances.

Are there any clear improvements you think I could make to my business?

You have a lot of goals to achieve from the get-go which could overwhelm the integrity of what you wish to achieve in the long run. It might be better to integrate some of these into your future plans for the business and tackle it one step at a time.

Is there anything you would suggest changing about my business?
As far as I can see the business sustains itself and I couldn't provide any extra input which would 100% benefit your business' needs.

What do you think would be the biggest issue this business would face?
I think the primary issue would be finding events as the few that do take place usually have business with established rivals. A lot of effort would be needed to either poach business, or alternatively set up your own events to start with.
